The New Zealand Cake Decorators Guild was formed in 1986 and is the parent body for 32 Cake Decorating Clubs throughout New Zealand, with around 500 members overall.
Many members are hobby cake decorators who love decorating cakes for family and friends. Others are cake decorating professionals and teachers. The Guild’s aims are to promote the art of cake decorating, and we welcome members of all skill levels, and those just starting out.
Most clubs meet monthly, with special workshop/demonstration days being held from time to time.
There is also an Annual Conference weekend, held alternately in the South and North Islands, this event is a combination of demonstrations and social events, plus the opportunity for small group hands-on workshops. The 2022 Conference will be held in Alexandra, 2023 we will gather in Napier. The conference is a time for meeting friends and making new ones, sharing knowledge and learning new skills, with the assistance of demonstrators from New Zealand and overseas, and for shopping at the Trade Stands.
Membership is open to anyone with an interest in cake decorating, through their local branch, alternatively Lone membership is available to anyone not living within 50 kms of a club. Traders and companies involved in the industry are able to join directly as Affiliate Members.
